SLAY (Skills in Leadership for Amplifying Youth)

Course Overview: SLAY is a project-based leadership experience designed for LGBTQ+ youth who are ready to explore who they are and how they want to lead. Set in a supportive, identity-affirming space, this program creates room for connection, discovery, and growth on your terms and at your pace.

Each semester includes five sessions that guide participants through foundational leadership concepts, self-reflection, and the basics of managing a project or small business idea. Whether a participant arrives with a vision or simply the curiosity to learn, SLAY offers practical exposure to leadership tools while building confidence and community.

This is not a crash course in entrepreneurship. It is a leadership journey grounded in real-world practice, where participants take initiative, collaborate, and shape ideas into tangible outcomes. The learning culminates in a group or individual project that may be showcased at Springfield’s Pride Pride in 2026, offering space to share what’s been created and who you’ve become.
